bharatham had very classical songs ... great songs ...
actually a few mohanlal films have that kind of songs ... he (mohanlal) brought back classical music into malayalam cinema (thro' his home productions)
starting with his highness abdulla, kamaladalam, bharatham, one song in chithram etc .. also u should listen to sargam ...
and one hindustani classical song in Aaram Thamburan which goes Harimuraleeravam sung by yesudas is too good ....

the above songs were not experimentations ... they were good and was made the way they should be made ...

but sangamam had classical & folk ... its different yet BEAutiful ...
sangamam was one of its kind .. never heard before ...

yes .. yelelo could be pure classical .. but is looking like it wont release, ever ...

regards

Sangamam is very good .. but Sindhu Bhairavi (SB) is in a different
league of its own. I dont think after that even IR has been able to
come up with something like that.
Of all the songs that I listened to after SB .. only one can compete
with SB. Thats a movie called "Bharatam" in malayalam. What songs man.
Yesudas and BalaMuraliKrishna at their best. No wonder it won National
award. Songs were awesome.

"Bharatam" was remade in tamil .. dont know movie name. Starred
Karthik. It had music by Deva.  Not even 1% as good as Bharatam.
