i do agree with you vithur.. and the growing thing is b'cause i think the ups and downs of his compositions is always new to our ears and thus hard to understand.Once our brain used to know these nuances we starts to enjoy the music...but in case of other MDs on the first hearing itself we can sing along cause its mostly predictable.and also our expectation plays a roll in this.eg.when i knew there will a khawwali in JA i expected a song like piya haji ali and fell in big disappointment when i heard Kwaja mere kwaja for the first time.and the sargams (rigagaga) were really disturbing. and we all know what happened next.now its like medicine..three times a day-minimum- and i cannot think of this song without rigagaga..
