Much-celebrated Indian music maestro A.R. Rahman, who has created a landmark in
the history of Indian cinema by winning a double Oscar triumph for Danny
Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire at the 81st Academy Awards , will visit
Thiruvananthapuram on April 14.

He will also conduct a live music concert at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium
in the city as part of an initiative by Global Kerala Initiative, a non-profit
social organization, to collect funds for the rehabilitation of AIDS-afflicted
children. The charity show will be part of A.R. Rahman’s world tour.

March 1. "This will be the start of a long series of functions in India that
Rahman has graciously agreed to attend," CMU chairman S.A. Rajkumar said on
Wednesday.

A three kg silver memento in the shape of a globe with the etched logo of the
body will presented to Rahman by legendary Carnatic musician M.
Balamuralikrishna in the presence of music directors M.S. Vishwanathan,
Ilayaraja and singer S.P. Balasubramanian. The memento is being made at a cost
Rs. 300,000. According to film industry sources, a special 'chariot' is being
