What version of the explorer is this person using? It probably is something
with the java runtime env that IE uses on his computer..

Subject: Error whilst accessing a Remedy application via IE

**
Hello good people of the ARlist,

I wonder if anyone could possibly assist me. We currently have an issue whereby
one of our customers using our bespoke remedy application via the Mid-tier is
receiving an error message while going about their usual tasks. The error
message they receive is: -

“A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it
continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort
the script?“

Apparently this happens when they hit the back button amongst other things.

I have found a KB entry on the Microsoft Support site
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/175500) and got our customers IT department to
follow the instructions but that did not help.

I’m unable to recreate this issue and am sure it is a problem with network
set-up at our customers end but would love to be able to point them in the
right direction. Has anyone had this issue before and how did you resolve it?

Some details: -

Windows 2000
ARSystem 5.1.2
Mid-tier Version 5.01.02 patch 1303
Oracle 9i
Our customer says they are using many versions of IE ranging from 5.5 up to 7

Thanks in advance,

Gary.

Gary Chapman
