You can use whatever encryption level you want inside of the US. You can buy a 256bit SSL from verisign right now. What your thinking of is the export limitation for US based software exporting outside of the US.

Not quite sure why they have that limitation but its against the law to use encryption anything above that.. Depending on how good your nephew is in breaking into security, the 128 bit key encryption is pretty good. I haven't used it but its the maximum security allowed to be used in the US.. Does anyone use it? Does anyone know: - what algorithm is used? - what size limitations are there on the key? - on a scale of 1 (my nephew could crack it in an afternoon) to 10 (a supercomputer would take a year), how secure is it? -Aaron * Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ________________________________ Have a burning question?
