I think the biggest difference between RRRChive and DDM is that with DDM you
can only use it when you have a direct copy of your source database as your
target database. So in essence, you can only use DDM on upgrades where you are
using the BMC parallel upgrade strategy. If you were to do a fresh install and
would like to migrate data form your source server to your new target server,
you cannot do that with DDM, however its my understanding you could do that
with RRRChive; but honestly I've never had the opportunity to use it.

We're used the DDM tool twice now with our upgrades (7.5 -> 7.6.04 and 7.6.04
-> 8.1.01), with the most recent use being in early 2014. We ran into the same
situation with the AST:Attributes. I had commented on your other thread of
'Delta Migration and AST:Attributes Form' that we corrected this by changing
the unique ID from instance ID to recon ID on the DDM mapping scripts.

We are mostly OOB so we don't have a lot of custom workflow or fields, but we
applied the overlays first and then ran our DDM utility. I'm not sure why you
wouldn't be able to do this as long as you've added custom fields to the DDM
mappings.
