Upgrade of itsm on top of AR should not change host id. Remedy doesn't make changes or touches host I'd during installation.
If upgrade should have changed the host id then that should have got changed during AR upgrade only which I believe must have not happened. I am not sure if the server is hosted on VM or Physical machine, but if the server is hosted on VM then VM has settings that makes host id static or dynamic. You might would like to check with that??
