Micheal was to the point there.. Just to add a bit more of what I did on such a integrated database link was, determined what nextid value the AR System would use so as to leave a good range of ID's for any external application that might be writing to that table... So I had set a nextid value of 500000000000000 for the AR System to use for its first record onwards, leaving all values below that range for any external systems.
Also had developers on external systems to pad 0's as necessary just for a good measure although that was not absolutely necessary... Specific to our requirement was also that the AR System could modify only those rows that the AR System created so had workflow enable or disable the modify button on the form that this table could be edited from depending on the value of the Entry-ID. A little note on the screen informing the user that the record they are viewing is maintained from another system helped the users understand why their modify button was disabled on viewing that record.. If the Oracle view is on a separate database then you will need to create a database link between the 2 databases. 2. Create a Remedy View form that points to the Oracle view. (See v6.3 basic guide page 174) 3. You can update your flags using standard workflow (e.g Push Fields) 4. You cannot trigger Remedy workflow if the Oracle view is updated. That's it!
