I have made some progress, alright. I can now at least get to the "Search Knowledge Base" screen without ghastly errors. (Yippie!! How about that?) On pressing the "Search" button, however, I get a new window that seems to be loading stuff for a while, but ultimately remains blank with "Error on Page" at the bottom. I don't see anybody talking about this issue any longer. Have you guys given up hopes of ever using the Knowledge Base...as the permanent victim of the "upgrade"...or figured out the secret way to have it behave? I would want to be in on the secret.
