Malcolm, If I understand you correctly, you have a field called Client in your HPD:HelpDesk table. You want to know the origin of the data that exists in this field?
If that is so, enable your Search Database. You can do so in the Admin Tool using Tools -> Enable Sync Search Database. (If this option is grayed out it would mean someone has already enabled it.) This operation creates 3 tables with the prefix object_search_. Then run the Tools -> Sync Search Database. This is a time consuming and database intensive process that may virtually lock your database - well not lock but if you run it during production hours you might get a good yelling from your users who are very likely to experience timeouts / bad response from the AR Server on most of their operations. Either do this on a development server when there is no major development work done or run it during non production hours. DO NOT CLOSE YOUR ADMIN tool till the Sync Search database process completes. On enabling this database and running the sync, you will get a Related Workflow tab enabled on your Admin tool when you double click on the Client field. This will tell you all the AL's and Filters and Menus tied to this field and may lead you to what you want. Hope this helps... I'm not an expert on Remedy but it appears that the ODBC driver automatically joins tables. However in the HPD:HelpDesk table is a 'Client' field. How can I find out what table this comes out of ? I want to retrieve a list of all Clients to populate a list box. Kind Regards, Malcolm McCaffery http://www.tiange.com.au No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
