Jennifer, The desktop client has been referred to by many names over the years. WUT is actually an old name that has been around for a long time. Probably was used much more in the past than fat/thin client. ------Original Message------ From: Meyer, Jennifer L To: Arslist ReplyTo: Arslist Subject: Etiquette Question: Is Fat Client offensive? ** I’ve suddenly realized that “WUT” stands for “windows user tool.” When did we stop saying “fat client” and “thin client” or “mid tier?” Are “fat” and “”thin” outmoded with today’s networking capabilities, or simply offensive with today’s caloric-challenged society? Someone please answer definitively, because “WUT” threw me for a loop for a couple of weeks, and I felt really dumb. I’m seriously confused at the loss of the fat client.
