If you need this to be flexible and define what field data to audit through data configuration, take a look at this post: http://www.nabble.com/WWRUG09-Update-091309-to23021115.html#a23063049 or download sample from here: http://www.westoverconsulting.co.uk/utilitiesAudit.html HTH David Sanders Remedy Solution Architect Enterprise Service Suite @ Work ========================== tel +44 1494 468980 mobile +44 7710 377761 email <mailto:david.sand...@westoverconsulting.co.uk> david.sand...@westoverconsulting.co.uk web <http://www.westoverconsulting.co.uk/> http://www.westoverconsulting.co.uk _____ From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arsl...@arslist.org] On Behalf Of Remedy Maniac Sent: Monday, July 13, 2009 4:07 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: how to catch the last modified field hi, of course I was meaning the content of the field changed by a user. Actually I have only few fields which could be affected. So it could be worth to investigate your solution. What do mean by OTB audit functionality? Is it something in Sybase? Or are you talking of the contents of a field in a record updated by a user? If you mean choice 2, and you have tons of fields in that form, there is practically no way of doing this without making it a very expensive operation where you store information for time for each field updated in another form via push field options after doing a transactional check on data.. It won't be the brightest of things you might attempt to do.. Another alternative is auditing each field using the OTB audit functionality - expensive process too. If its definitions you are looking for where an administrator may have made changes to the field, this can be found in the fields table in the ARSystem database. Only ARSystem version 6.01 with Sybase 12.5.3 and the mid-tiers 6.3 We are in the process of upgrade. By the time being, I have the following concern: - on a webpage where I see my tickets, I have several fields such as Problem description, Short description, Worklog, Resolution. It's a pity because I don't see the content of the fields. I need to click on the edit icon to display the pop-up window which gives me the content of the field. Now what I would like is to catch somehow, which field has been updated last. So I could maybe display this info in a way or another. So I will go straight to that field. Instead of looking field after field which one has the most updated info. Any help/idea/suggestiongs?
