For those of us who do like to work full time with one employer for a number of
years, the statistics show that about half of us have been with our current
employer less than 4 or 5 years and one fourth of us for less than 2 years.
That's just the nature of the IT business.

Add on top of that the fact that the 'remedy' niche has a large percentage of
its jobs as short contracts and you get a labor pool where each of us (even
regular full-timers) will have time spans involving so-called job hopping.
That's just the nature of the niche we fill.

Add on top of THAT the fact that the consultants pack more experience into a
year than the regulars do and you face unrealistic expectations from some
employers. In no way is a 10+ year consultant with a client list as long as
your arm equivalent to a 10+ year serial full-timer with a couple of employers
and a handle full of in-house projects.

I can see where employers can be disenchanted with some of the younger, less
experienced contract workers, but the fix for that is to employ a knowledgeable
screening/search firm or build a serial relationship with one or two good
consultants.

Good luck with the hunt, though. I hope you find your client a good match.
