The way I look at it is this. 'Get Used to it now, rather than later'. I
have been developing in Remedy since 3.2 in '98 and have heard countless
people complain about the admin tool....but like you, I got used to it and
simply know how to get around it better than the Dev studio...but the point
is that BMC won't be going back to the admin tool and if you touch a 7.5
server, you should touch it with the same 'Admin' as the server
version...this has ALWAYS been the guidance provided....so unless you plan
on staying on 7.1 from now through eternity (which is always an option of
course)...ya just need to put the same time into learning Dev studio that
you put into learning the Admin tool. I agree that it's a bit 'rough' at
the moment....with some things that don't work properly....for those, and
those things only I go back to my Admin tool. I apply the latest patches to
the clients as soon as they come out and they fix more things each time they
come out. I know the question was really 'do you like what you know, or the
new thing'....and I think everyone likes what they know....but if we want to
stay current it's in our best interest to accept change and learn to like
the new dev studio :)

Subject: Big fan of Remedy Developer Studio?

I can not make up my mind if I like it or not! I am sorry if this has been
debated up and down in the past on the arslist?

I find it quicker, faster and more effective to work within the old Remedy
Administrator. There is some nice functionality within Remedy Developer
Studio but in general everything takes longer time. Well - my fingers are
more used to the Admin tool. Even so - I got better control and things are
done quicker the "old fashion way".

It might be the displays! At home I got two 24" displays. At work I am only
given one 17". Working in the Studio is more fun then - it almost requires
some big screens to work with. Still - my preferred tool is Remedy Admin.

Am I the only one who finds the transition to the Studio difficult? It is
making the ARS platform more up-to-date but I think the Studio got a good
way to go before it provides a good development environment.

All the best

Terje
