That’s true. Did not think of that.. In this case if you have a server group
you would also need to make sure that there is a shared directory that all the
servers in the server group have access to at all times, that would need to be
configured as the full text search directory, for full text search to be
available on all servers in that server group..

Joe,

What you say is true, however, the Full Text Search still has to index the
records in order for them to appear in search results or else you may get the
“Index does not exist” error.

I think what he may have meant by indexing was way back when hummingbird was
used as a backend search engine, where indexing was required for hummingbird to
build its indexes even if a single article existed..

That is no longer required as the knowledgebase is now an integral part of the
AR System and not a third party entity that could exist independent of the AR
System.

** There were only a few thounsand so I do not think indexing would help. I
have not dug into the new search engine loaded with KM 7.6.03/4 to determine
what is needed to minimize the search time.

You just did the import and there was nothing more you needed to do? They just
appeared in a search for one of the articles?? You didn't have to do any
indexing? Sam_attend WWRUG11 www.wwrug.com ARSlist: "Where the Answers Are"_
