What patch level is the 7.5 installation? I seem to remember during my upgrade to 7.6.03 and/or 04.01 that they wanted me on 7.5.00.007 as an intermediate level (and 7.6.00.002/1 apps). Of course, your problem may have nothing to do with that, since the 7.6.x installers have their own collection of defects and misbehaviors, most of them already mentioned in this thread.
