Scott, I would side with the BMC approach when it means I can take advantage of feature sets now rather than having to wait for the 6 months for a bundled solution. I have had to do this with many products from Microsoft and other vendors. It is the fact of life in the RAD lifecycle which is the norm these days. In my shop, we have chosen frequent smaller releases rather than infrequent large releases. It is very effective. As the tactless retort you were replying to, I am in full agreement.
