Thanks Fred and Joe. I created a new local view (in a separate db object) by pulling from the linked server data. Works great.

This is specially the case if the view form is against an internal AR System table, where the table name across environments may not be the same depending on the method you use to promote your customizations or development to prod. Even if the table name is not the same, the view name stays consistent.
