This may also occur if you've changed the name of your DB away from the default. Defect # is SW00432060.
For example, the install logs while connecting to new DB might say: (Apr 16 2012 11:29:32.688 AM +0100),INFO,com.bmc.install.product.arsuitekit.platforms.arsystemservers.arserver.ARServerDatabaseInformationValidationTask, LOG EVENT {Description=[Failed to check database connection],Detail=[com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Cannot open user default database. Login failed.]} After Renaming the DB , the default database of the User which will be used to connect to the database, should also be changed. For example "ARAdmin" will be linked to the old database i.e. ARSYSTEM_OLD and should be changes to "ARSYSTEM_NEW" . After Changing the DB you should be able to move ahead with Upgrade option. -David J. Easter Manager of Product Management, AR System BSM & Atrium Solutions Management BMC Software, Inc. When that is specified properly it doesn't prompt for SA, and it provides upgrade capacity. -----Original Message----- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] On Behalf Of patrick zandi Sent: Friday, June 08, 2012 8:53 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: ARS 7.6.04 SP3 installer Solaris - no upgrade option ** feeling crabby today.. . Running installer (solaris 10 - ars 7.6.04 sp2 going to sp3, oracle 11) it is now prompting a system password for create or overwrite. however, I never selected to overwrite, or create - my system is already running just fine.. UPGRADE not showing up.. I looked through arslist, I am missing it.. I know we had a discussion, but I thought that was sp2 , not sp3.. anyone find this one? or got a fix action? -- Patrick Zandi _attend WWRUG12 www.wwrug.com ARSlist: "Where the Answers Are"_ _______________________________________________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org attend wwrug12 www.wwrug12.com ARSList: "Where the Answers Are" _______________________________________________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org attend wwrug12 www.wwrug12.com ARSList: "Where the Answers Are"
