Raj,

What we did here was to make it a property of the operational catalog,
which allows for some incidents to auto-close and some not.  We added a
check box field "Last Task Closes Incident" to the service catalog
association form, and then filters on HPD:Help Desk to check that value
when the last task signal (event code = 100) is received, and if it was
set, close the incident.  We only needed it for incidents, but it could
just as easily be done for the other modules.

Some other options would be to put the flag on the parent app's template
forms, but that would be somewhat limiting.  Or maybe to have the flag be
based on the Task's operational category instead of the incident's,  The
task management system could then send a different closing code to indicate
that the parent should auto-close.  I suppose if you really wanted to get
crazy, you could put the flag on the CFG:Assignment form,with its own event
type, then you'd be able to control it using any combination of the four
orders and module specifications.  It would be distorting the intent of
that form a little bit, and I'm not sure it'd be useful to have it be that
granular.
