Hi!

KDE2.1 is going to be released really-soon-now, and I thought it might be
a good idea to make a lists of aRts related tasks that should better be done
until then. It's mostly not coding, as the code is in deep freeze now, and
that is better like this.

Code:
 * fix bugs that appear on bugs.kde.org
 * make "make check" run cleanly, either by fixing disconnectRemote or by
   removing the test
 * seperate the examples - those that work should be installed into the
examples directory, those that don't should either be installed in a
seperate directory, or not at all
 * bump up the version number, to be able to see which bug reports are
referring to the KDE2.0 versions of the things

Documentation:
 * merge documentation from kdelibs/arts/doc into the aRts Handbook (which
   is in kdemultimedia/doc/artsbuilder)
 * make artscontrol and kcmarts refer to the aRts Handbook
 * generate API reference via kdoc
 * if I am not the only one working on the documentation (I hope so, Jeff?),
please tell me which chapters you can or can't write, so that I can do the
   stuff nobody else can do

WWW:
 * download: offer only the KDE2.1 version of aRts for download, and a non-KDE
   version (from the snapshots)
 * news: add a brief overview what changed KDE2.0 -> KDE2.1
 * demosong: do a demosong with the new aRts (any musicians here?)
 * documentation: refer to the new documentation (see above ;), and the
   generated API reference

Other:
 * if possible, complete the icons for all modules

I know, this is quite some stuff, and I hope that some people will start
helping now, as it will probably be impossible if I should do it all ;-)
The release schedule says about the timing:

Monday 12/02 Last day for translations, documentation, icons and critical
             bugfixes commits.

BTW, a web readable version of the documentation as it is now is online at
http://space.twc.de/~stefan/kde/arts-mcop-doc/artsbuilder/, I'll try to
keep that updated, as new chapters go into the CVS.

   Cu... Stefan
