Ok, that is at least a working solution.

Oh well, all that versioning is a little confusing. That's why the TODO list
also includes updating the aRts web pages, which are quite misleading right
now.

aRts
====
 - arts-0.3.4.1 is *very* old (> 1 year)
 - the manual under http://www.arts-project.org/doc/manual/index.html refers
   to aRts-0.3.4.1 (so it is *very* old, too)

 - artsbuilder 0.4.0 alpha is newer (it comes with KDE2), and the first released
   version with lots of new technology used, like MCOP instead of CORBA, and
   KDE/Qt 2.0 instead of 1.x - that's the reason why some features/modules are
   not available there

 - the latest released version (which has more modules available again) is the
   one which is included in KDE2.1beta2 - you can grab KDE2.1beta2 at

   ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/unstable/distribution/2.1beta2

   there are mandrake packages, too

 - to get even newer sources, you will need to use CVS, that is

   http://www.kde.org/anoncvs.html

   and compile KDE yourself

Brahms:
=======
 - any Brahms version that requires qt-1.41 is outdated and will not work
   with recent aRts versions anyway

 - there are no snapshots of the most recent Brahms version yet (a new Brahms/
   KDE2.1 version exists since ... two days now ;), so you need to compile
   that yourself in any case, you can get it via anonymous CVS, instructions
   again at http://www.kde.org/anoncvs.html, the module is called kmusic
