Hold on to your pantaloons there Ms. Kiz! Oak, myself and others of
my generation have, and will, pay more in social security taxes than
we will ever be able to collect, UNLIKE your generation which is
taking out more than you ever put in. I tell the same thing to my
father and father-in-law. That being said, I won't throw that in
your face. I am happy to fund your retirement as long as there is
someone left to fund mine.

However, both yours and my statement are irrelevant to Oakdorf's
original statement. There is no reason why Asbury Towers or any
other senior residence should be exempt from real estate taxes
unless it is part of an eleemosynary organization and structure.

Seniors already get tax abatements in most jurisdictions (not to
mention discounts on a bunch of other goodies like subway fares and
movie tickets). Let's not forget about the early bird specials at
most restaurants! Don't start me now.

We all know yours is the greatest generation, but give us kids
(ahem) some credit. We stopped a war, made a president resign and
even helped women shed their bras (please put them back on now
girly - er, madam);)
