Wrong again! Jim had nothing, Nada, zilch, to do with a Neptune Township dispute! One official, who just happened to be a fire official DIDn't want the event to happen AT ALL and used his muscle as a Fire Official, to gring it to a halt! If you read the Press, Hotels were booked to capacity, due to the popularity of the event! Thier Chamber of Commerce was up in arms that ONE official, could cancel an event, which has been reenacted for the last 5 years in Ocean Grove and before that, in Asbury Park! For a so-called lawyer, you don't check your sources or do your homework, but I noticed your "cute" face in the Coaster, this past week. For a strikingly handsome man, your lights upstairs are on "low"! You have a "death-wish" bone to pick, with a man that has education, plain old "common sense" and charisma. People like Jim and those who do, do so, genuinely. What do you have against this man? Not a right-winged conservative, like you? Practice racism and bigotry, as you do, then hide behind a cloak, of "who me"? You're a typical "Macaca-calling" Repug, just like Allen of Va., who didn't know his own mother was half-Jewish? Shame, shame, on him! I long for the Republicans of old, who while moderate, certainly weren't racist! The Democrats in the South were the racists and when the 1964 and 1965 Civil Rights Laws were enacted by a southern Democrat from Texas, no less, they jumped party and became Republicans; no compliment to moderate Republicans in Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts or Maine! All Republicans are in trouble due to the Abramoff Lobbying scandal, the NSA illegal wiretaps, the secret oil meetings by Cheney, (gas is now below 2.00 a gallon), The illegal war in Iraq, the Foley, Ney and all of the other scandals that give tax breaks to the rich, while jobs are exported overseas, leaving white-collar, college educated workers unemployed. The American public, mostly white and mostly middle-class need a break from Bush and people like you! You use Christianity like a badge of courage, while you never serve in the military and behind closed doors, practice a set of personal rules, you'd restrict other private Americans from exercising. One set of rules for us and another for yourselves because the rules and the law DON'T apply to you. I forgot, "only the little people, pay taxes"! You ought to play yourself back sometimes, you wouldn't be so harsh on those you see as adversarial! When a man stands up to a bully, the bully will back down! You need a reality check! > > What happened to good old fun? It can still be had, but money overrides, what we knew as the "familiar", like comfort food, safe streets and a decent living. For many right in town, it's as far away as Iraq! This country is bent on rebuilding Iraq and can't build decent homes on the West Side of Asbury Park! All we get is talk and no action! > > > > I guess the rise in fires and fire deaths took the fun out of it. > > Some people take fire safety for granted.
