I've seen similar things.
That's why I don't get why people are so obsessed with an actual number. To me,
that
obsession is pointless.
I think one of the main problems in Asbury are there are very little
opportunities for the
kids, so they turn to violence and gangs. At least in a gang, they get a gang
version of
respect.
What are the opportunities here?
Get a shit job at Target or Walmart for barely enough money to survive on?
Once upon a time in Asbury Park, when the boardwalk was filled with action,
there were
tons of jobs, albeit seasonal. But what is there now?
To me, it feels like Asbury is community filled with little disconnected
communities.
I think Asbury could use more togetherness.
And I also think Asbury could use more community events, even things like a
"Help Clean
up our City" event.
Why don't things like that happen here?
