except that 1. If the houses are beach homes, second homes, for people who could own a beach house here, where otherwise they could not afford it. No issue with schools if the house is a second house. If the land with rotten buildings could be sold off lot by lot for single family homes....
and 2. No one who buys or builds a newer home in AP would likely send thier kids to public school anyway, unfortunately. If a full time home, those kids will go to private school. I do not see building up a ton of high end condos as the answer. there are already a bunch and they are not selling well. If they go unoccupied, that will just lead to a bunch of more problems.
