I spent some free time this weekend looking at the artist renderings for MM's proposed redevelopment, and I started to wonder why they didn't just go back to archival photos and try and redevelop AP in the classic style that made it famous. The new designs for the pavilions are going to look really out of place next to the redeveloped Casino and CH. Why not go for the older classic AP boardwalk? There is already way too much of the frilly architecture they are pushing. Why not go the extra distance and give the world back something unique, rather then create a look that's been repeated way to many times, in way too many places? I'd love to go to tonights (or any nights) planning board meeting, but I have to work. I hope somehow this concept gets brought up by somebody before it's too late and more crap is built in our city.
