The fact is, there are some musicians who do preach politics as part of their music... but there are others who simply jump on the bandwagon of bashing the Republican candidate simply because its the popluar "celebrity" thing to do... thats not to say that ALL of the celebrities who are out supporting a candidate are out for publicity. The Lindsay Lohans and Madonnas of the world... Can anyone honestly say that Madonna is an inspired musician who writes songs and sings about problems in the world?? Her music and image promotes being a slut, her songs are about dancing and sex and having fun... there are no songs about hard working people and political issues... her Sarah Palin bashing at her concerts are completely unwarrented and uncalled for. Regardless of her political views, women should look up to Sarah Palin in terms of her achievements in going from a mayor to a governer to the veep nominee. I know my mother idolizes her because she can relate to being a hard working mom, even though she doesn't see eye to eye with her on her political views. Sarah Palin, just like many other women politicians, is a true role model for women, just like so many other professional women in society. Its moron celebrities like Madonna and Lindsay Lohan who make me disregard anything I hear from any famous person who makes it to the evening news or newspaper with their politician bashing. Maybe if it wasn't such a trendy thing in Hollywood, it wouldn't be something I and many others despise so much. ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
