McCain’s transition director Timmons does bear one important distinction: He was a lobbyist for Saddam Hussein, hired by the dictator back in the 1990’s to petition the U.S. government to limit sanctions. asburypolitics : Message: Poor Judgment 101:Transition Director a Lobbyist for Saddam If you want to play Joe McCarthy's guilt by association, the Timmons/McCain connection is on the 2008-2009 transition team. Not 2001 when Obama and Ayers both served on an Annenberg Foundation project. The only hard facts that have come out so far are the $200 contribution by Ayers to the Obama re-election fund, and their joint membership of the eight-person Woods Fund Board. Ayers did not respond to e-mails and telephone calls requesting clarification of the relationship. Obama spokesman Bill Burton noted in a statement that Ayers was a professor of education at the University of Illinois and a former aide to Mayor Richard M. Daley, and continued: Senator Obama strongly condemns the violent actions of the Weathermen group, as he does all acts of violence. But he was an eight-year-old child when Ayers and the Weathermen were active, and any attempt to connect Obama with events of almost forty years ago is ridiculous. http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/2008/02/obamas_weatherman_connecti on.html

You know, the guy who every time Obama distances himself we find another example of being together? Ayers did to America what Bin Laden did to America? He says he wishes he did more. You would be his friend? Obama is his friend. If there is nothing on the tape to embarrass Obama, why not release it? I predict that he bashes America on that tape. Absolutely. **************Plan your next getaway with AOL Travel. Check out Today's Hot 5 Travel Deals!
