Mr. Keady, I've stated your position (as have you) being oppostion to public funding for both events enough times that it is understood by now in all the posts on the topic.
You are setting up a Red Herring for people to chase so you don't have to address the real issue. You get your name in the paper every year with your objection to Columbus day by railing against if from the dais. Lots of publicity for your opinion on the matter. You don't do that for Kwanzaa. The reason is you fear no loss of votes over Columbus, so you let your bigotry toward that cultural identification fly in public. You fear loss of votes over Kwanzaa, so you make your objection to Kwanzaa only in the proverbial smokey back room. Your excuse that you simply wish to have bad stories told of Columbus in the day's events rings untrue, becuase you don't similarly ask that folks examine the crimes of torture by Ron Karenga to their Kwanzaa celebration. Such a suggestion would be as stupid against what Kwanzaa celebrates as it is when you make it against Columbus. Stop focusing on me and focus on your differing treatment of the two events, and the people who celebrate them. Or take your Apostle's advice and stop posting. It's only making you look bad. --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, "jwkeady" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Mr. Deseno, > > In a recent email, you wrote: > > "He opposes both the Columbus and Kwanzaa celebrations (which you and > I support)." > > That is a lie.
