While parking can be tough, as a taxpayer who's already paying enough in
property taxes I hope the city can drive significant revenue from parking, as
virtually every other shore town and city already does. It's the price we pay
for living in a town that has the kind of attraction that draws people in (the
beach). There are plenty of places where street parking is easy to find and
free. They are in non-beach communities.

I would love an annual parking permit, much like an annual beach badge, which
many have discussed in this thread. But the expectation that you can live near
the beach, always be able to find a spot right in front of your house and not
pay for parking is simply not reasonable. The city needs revenue, and for a
shore town charging for parking is critical.

Or we can all just pay more for property taxes.
