Actually, $1 to park is a deterrent. When you add $1 to a cup of chai tea (or
coffee) for your drive in addition to having to find a parking spot, people
will think twice. Maybe not week enders, but locals will.
"Let's meet at restaurantwhatever on Cookman" becomes a harder sell when your
friends are driving in to town PAST places they don't have to jostle for
parking and then pay for the space.
