I had a lengthy discussion about this last night, and I've concluded that this
will be good for the business' downtown. Too many spots held all day by
residents and others who were not shopping. I know a guy from Ocean who parked
on Cookman to take the train into NYC because he felt his car was safer there.
(He also sparked the convo last night)

My point is that's one free'd up space for several people to shop with now. If
people are parking there because they work downtown....I say suck it up. I pay
$22 a day to park at my job.

This is going to create turnover.....good turnover, which is something that has
been non existent downtown.

Store owners should look into vouchers, work with the Chamber of Commerce, I
see a lot of other stores that do this in other towns/cities

I just feel this is going to be a good thing, it may take time for it to show,
but it will be good

It was Tuesday. It looks like a ghost town because the folks who were keeping
their cars there for free are not parking there. So it was a false level of
activity with the cars there. Believe me, folks that were driving into AP and
eat at the restaurants are NOT not coming because of two extra bucks.
