After Indian Army assassinated Ajit Mahanta of Kakopathar alledging him to be an ULFA activist, a crowd of hudred thousand villagers came out to streets in Kakopathar in Tinsukia district to protest. Police, CRPF and Indian Army indiscriminately fired on the protesters and unconfirmed reports ascertain the death toll as 8 till now.
