I took the trouble of scanning the Rants and Raves responses to the above
article by Jha. It is a telling picture one gets of the Indian psyche:
YOUR TAKE?

May the Force Be With You, Sir
Hats off, Outlook. I know columnists like Prem Shankar Jha can't find
anything right done by the security forces (A Lecturer in Prison, November
4). Apart from being a brute force and reckless killing machines, can they
be any good? The secularist media in India has a definite agenda for the
country. And this has to be followed by the successive governments of the
country. If they decide a certain Geelani is innocent, how dare the
security forces (already frustrated because of the scores of bottlenecks
created by the so-called ngos and Leftists in the garb of human rights
activists) arrest him and try their tactics on him? What was their problem
in calling up Prem Shankar Jha and asking him whether they could proceed
with the interrogation of this learned lecturer? That is the least the
forces can do the next time, if there is a next time, that is.

The government should undertake an enquiry into
the agenda of these kind of journalists. With
these dumbos in India, ISI does not have to do much.
I am in US, for 5 years. I have not seen a single
anti-national article published in a newspaper of
repute here. And I fully support the way the
newspapers in the US conduct themselves.
And in India, magazines like Outlook, encourage
these kind of anti-national columns. How pathetic!
Publishers of Outlook should understand that
Democracy should not be misused for anti-nationalistic preaching.

Dear Editor,
Hats off! I know your columnists like Prem Shankar Jha cannot find any
thing right done by the security forces. After all, who are these security
forces? Apart from being a brute force and reckless killing machines they
are can they be any good? Secularist media in India has a definite agenda
for the country. This has to be followed by successive governments. If they
decide a certain Gilani is innocent how dare the security services (already
frustrated because of the scores of bottlenecks created by so called NGOs
and commys in the garb of Human rights activists) arrest him and try their
tactics on him!! What was the problem in giving a ring to
Mr Jha to find out whether they can proceed with the interrogation of this
learned Lecturer? Security forces should atleast do that hence forth.

To Understand this Article we must read all the previous articles from this
writer. One thing is very obvious the purpose to put India in a very bad
light. The whole news pattern of this magazine seems to based on shock
values. Simple logic is sensitize things and deride Indians, all semi aware
people will feel you are a serious writer. To check the sincierty of the
writer we should also check what alternative or solutions are suggested. To
check the negative patterns of this magazine we should also read few of
it's earlier issues, the pattern and purpose of this magazine is very clear.
Willing or unwilling these less capable persons act as loudspeaker for the
evil.

You see this country has too much money to waste on courts. Our 'secular
media' is ready with its (stupid) judgement about ISI agents in India. They
after all can not do any harm to this country because they are muslims and
must be appeased at all costs.

Another one of those bleeding heart "liberals".
Has Jha written any articles on the plight of the Kashmiri Pandits? Not
that I know of!

I did not know that Jha is on the Pay rolls of ISI and Kashmiri terrorists.
Thank you for your very entertaining and imaginative story. Also I did not
know that pseudo-secularists would do anything for money and fame.

Looks like Jha has taken the responsibility of rationalizing every wrong
act. He, in the best tradition of secularists, is now rationalizing
anti-national acts just because the culprit is muslim.
What next .... ????
