I quite agree with Chan on his points.

Initially, when Bobeeta Sharma approached me with this proposal, I suggested that the best date for this would be December 2004. I also asked to circulate a specific agenda and purpose of the meeting. This would have given us enough time to prepare and discuss the issues to be raised in different countries.

I also ask the question "What is the agenda and expectations from us ??"

I have declared this in the executive committee meeting of the United Assam Association of the UK so we can hopefully represent this in Dec. 2004. Things have gone in a different way since the proposal, and it's all quite obviously a last minute plan gone wrong with a fair amount of disorganisation. That said, I'm not blaming an individual. The whole thing should be reviewed and organised in the correct way.

Hello,

Andhra Pradesh is different. From informal estimates, there may be
500,000 Andhraites in the USA. Even in my small city of Colorado Springs,
where there are 2 Assamese individuals, there are 800 Andhraites.
In the State of Colorado, where there are about 12 Assamese individuals,
there are about 5-6000 Andhraites. So, we shouldn't compare the Assamese
situation with the Andhra situation.

We need to get all Assamese outside Assam involved. Not, just those
abroad if we want to have sufficient numbers to do something useful.
