It's a bit of a wild idea, but what about testing a missing PTR against the SPF-expression "v=spf1 a/24 mx/4 -all" and only score if it fails.
It would be something I should do manually if I'm investigating if a mail is spam or not. I'm running 11.6 now and saw the default values of missing (20) against invalid (10). I was thinking about "invalid" being worse than missing. Almost all DSL-clients have a PTR-record (although something obscure). In my experience the ones that have a missing PTR-record are "almost professionals" being hosted by small hosting providers. How are others thinking about it? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
