On Debian you can install exim as an MTA for ASSP, it has different
modes and one is "Internet Site" which forwards all the mail directly
to the proper mx, you can also set it to send all the mail through your
isp's MTA.

I find it the most customizable MTA on linux. You can build routers and
transport filters in the MTA configuration and realy chose what to do
with the mails.

I encourage you to test it. It is perfect as a relay behind ASSP.
