I have never experienced any interoperability issues with Uniden phones
and Asterisk, at $114.95 customers seem to be satisfied with the price
vs quality/performance on the UIP200.
No lack of support on the new UIP1868 either from what I can see.

A note of caution about Uniden equipment. Please read all the product
reviews on Uniden equipment before you buy them. My experience with
Uniden Phones is not satisfactory, both Usability as well as appearance
and quality of the phones.
