Time to start fulfilling my New Year's Resolution... ;) How much does your bandwidth cost? Around here (Tampa, FL - carrier neutral facility, no loop) we pay (on average) about $100/MB. 10MB minimums, multiple upstreams, other random fees and you are at thousands of dollars. Of course the per MB price goes down as volume goes up but that doesn't really help the argument, does it? The only reason we have this connectivity is because we have to handle the media sometimes because the media is here (conferencing, voicemail, etc). If I were only handling SIP orig/term traffic to my carriers I'd just get some fairly reliable blend from someone in the facility and pay /maybe/ $200 total. Of course I could go ultra cheap and just get a slice on a Xen box somewhere. As long as I'm not handling media it shouldn't matter that much! -- Kristian Kielhofner http://blog.krisk.org http://www.submityoursip.com http://www.astlinux.org http://www.star2star.com _______________________________________________ --Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com-- asterisk-biz mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-biz
