Which brings me to my real question. I have a really fast AMD64 machine that I occassional run 6.1-RELEASE with and it screams. The * build on it only takes about 30 minutes. I've been told that I can use it to cross compile software...but as usual, no one can tell me how. The only answers I've gotten on this are RTFM, but I can't find this information anywhere in the handbook and countless google and yahoo searches have only yielded sparce references to the subject. Can anyone tell me how I cross compile between these two machines or where I can find detailed instructions on how to do it?
You could use distcc to distribute the build tasks to the AMD machine, this would speed up the builds hugely.
