There are no physical differences between pci 2.1 and pci 2.2. See http://www.pcisig.com/news_room/faqs/pci_sig_faq.pdf (2nd last clause) and http://www.pcisig.com/specifications/conventional/conventional_pci/2_2sum1215.pdf Apparently 2.2 is mostly a clarification/correction of 2.1.
