Hi,
I don't know if these would be of interest for the Cookbook, but they
would be of interest to me and probably some others...
1) I'd guess you'd call it 'failover'? i.e. when on outbound call fails
due to congestion on the vsp trunk, it'd be nice to have asterisk
automatically/transparently redial on another vsp.
This is a good idea, and not too hard to implement.
or,
2) Least cost routing of an outbound call. i.e. with several providers
available, asterisk should route the call via the vsp that gives the best
per-minute rate, whether a local call, call to US, international., on/off the
vsp's net, whatever.
LCR can get nasty pretty quickly, especially if people are expecting
100% accuracy. We'll give some thought to this and perhaps some sort of
introductory recipes can be provided, but LCR will mostly have to be
beyond the scope of the book.
TIA,
Thanks for the suggestions.
