After fighting a problem with horrible distortion on calls for a week I finally managed to set up a small lab environment to rule out QoS issues.
Setup: astlinux w/ 2 port Sangom card A102. port 1 is a T1 to the internet port 2 is a PRI to the phone system Problem: When a call is established with an outside person (doesn't matter who makes the call in or out) the remote person's side of the conversation is VERY broken up. It sounds like bad packet loss. I was able to easily recreate this scenario with the following setup: TEST AaH w/ pri -> port2 of Sangoma (AStlinux) AStlinux port 1 T1 -> a 3com t1 router T1 router on my Lan -> MY AaH I set up an IAX2 channel between them. When I place a call between the 2 PBXs I hear the bad sound from MY AaH, even when I'm just listening to my voice mail. So I remove the T1 from the equation and change the EXTIF on the AStlinux box so it has a local address on my LAN. I adjust the host entry in the iax.conf file on My AaH and can make calls again. With this new set up, calls sound very clear... I'm speculating that there's a problem with the wanpipe-beta1-2.3.4 drivers in the distro. Does anyone else have a similar setup with the sangoma cards? -- Brian _______________________________________________ Astlinux-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.kriscompanies.com/mailman/listinfo/astlinux-users Donations to support AstLinux are graciously accepted via PayPal to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
