well,
a good idea is to use www.zoneedit.com, it's free and fast and works
with astlinux.
I never have been locked and as well as you I use astlinux and
restarted the system many time when working on it.

I will have to look into this problem. Most of the time dyndns clients
will use a cache file to store the most recent update. inadyn doesn't
appear to have one. It could be possible to rig it to run via
udhcpc.script ONLY when the IP address changes by using some kind of
cache scheme that I'll cook up.
However, why are you working so hard to modify mini_httpd to not use
SSL? There is already another instance running on port 80 that you can
configure separately! If you look at the output of ps auwx, you should
see the second process running...
