I recently setup an astlinux installation in Phoenix AZ, which I am not
able to get the timezone set correctly for. The voicemail system
timestamps are all on GMT which is obviously "throwing" the end users.

I've tried editing rc.conf with both TIMEZONE=America/Arizona and
TIMEZONE=America/Phoenix but neither seems to have any effect.

The date command outputs GMT time "Wed Aug 2 22:50:54 UTC 2006" and
cat /etc/localtime yields "cat: /etc/localtime: No such file or directory"

I did some googling which suggested setting the "TZ" variable as a
solution, but I am not sure of the best way to do this under coastlines,
on top of the fact that I was unable to locate a timezone code for the
state of Arizona, which is normally on Mountain time, but does not
observe daylight savings time in the summer.

Any suggestions?
