Jonathan, It looks like your asturw device is connected via USB. Try adding "rootdelay=5" to the kernel command line. That will insert a five second delay into the startup process which should allow the kernel to enumerate all of the devices on the USB bus before it attempts to mount any filesystems. I wish there was a way to autodetect this.
