I can only second Christopher's opinion. Please DO NOT remove 
Asterisk-gui. I
think it would not well become a system like astlinux to not have a GUI.

I do have to admit, though, that I also have intermittent crashes.
However, I'm pretty sure they (those on my system) have nothing to do
with the Asterisk-GUI as I experience them without having touched the GUI.
