Ignore. I missed the "default" line of syslinux.cfg. I've renamed the
relevant files a good number of times, and reverted syslinux.cfg to what it
was, and all seems to be working now.

Sorry for all the confusion. No idea what caused the initial problem,
though. Borked Runnix4 download, I guess. I'll double-check that all is
well, but it looks as though it is.

Thanks for all the help

Tom

Warning: ignorant meddling ahead...

Swapped runnix and Xrunnix, and swapped runnix.img and Xrunnix.img. No
change.

Amended /oldroot/cdrom/syslinux.cfg, making "runnix" boot into Xrunnix, and
"xrunnix" boot into runnix. This now boots correctly into 1.0.1. However, _I
did not revert my swapping of the runnix and Xrunnix files.

What am I not understanding?

Also, what implications does this have, for example, with future upgrades?

Thanks

Tom

This is correct. Then 'runnix' should boot normally, otherwise again a
corrupted download, or your CF card could be borked :-(
You can try to repair it with:

'dosfsck -av /dev/sda1'
