Lonnie,

I downloaded a "fresh" copy of the 4801 image from the main astlinux website
and flashed a different CF card. The setup process seemed to go fine this time
around. I can confirm that the default reboot delay is not long enough because
the webpage to the box times out before the 4801 reboots, but this is a very
minor issue.

One more quick question... can you remind me how to configure a bridge
interface. My 4801 has (5) interfaces and I want to bridge eth1 - eth4 for my
LAN interface. I added BRIDGE0="eth1 eth2 eth3 eth4" to rc.conf (via the "Edit"
tab), but after rebooting, I don't see a br0 interface to assign to my 1st LAN
interface. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks Lonnie, I'll give it a try.

Hi Tom,

I dug out my old 128MB net4801, burned the same
"astlinux-1.0.4-asterisk-1.8.14.1.img.gz" to a 2GB SanDisk Ultra II .

Using eth0 I was able to browse to https://pbx.local on the same switch and
performed the setup via https://pbx.local/admin/setup.php

Everything worked fine. The only minor hiccup was during the first reboot the
countdown timer ended and the browser page went blank, the reboot was not yet
complete because the SSH keys took longer than normal to generate. I waited 30
seconds and did a reload of the browser and https://pbx.local/admin/setup.php
was ready for Step 2 to configure the unionfs partition as normal.

Other than that, everything went smooth, albeit painfully slow on the 128MB
net4801 :-) . I was able to change the system password, add asterisk sounds,
and make a demo call to Digium.

Possibly you have a bad ethernet port, you might try again, monitoring the
console port during the process for clues. If your eth0 is bad or
intermittent, you will have to do the initial setup via the console port,
instructions are under "Persistent Storage Options (CLI)" at
http://doc.astlinux.org/userdoc:new-install .
